A marketing coordinator executes marketing and advertising strategies that attract customers.
Do you think outside the box? Know how to get peoples’ attention? Put those creative skills to work as a marketing coordinator, where you’ll use words, images, and other techniques to make your company’s products as appealing as possible. You’ll be working as a team with other marketing employees to create visual and written advertisements that show off a product’s best qualities. Beyond your office, you’ll figure out the best places to expose your company to potential clients. This might include attending conferences, finding physical ad space, and contacting media companies.
In order to market your product to its full potential, you’ll need to know all about it. This means you’ll visit the production floor occasionally in order to learn about the best aspects of the product. You’ll also talk with engineers and designers, who will help you to understand the specifics of each product. In addition, you’ll need to know who potential customers are, which will require research.
Marketing coordinators need good computer skills, and you’ll need to be comfortable communicating through images, words, and spoken word. Most employers require a bachelor’s degree in the field, and an internship will help your resume stand out.
